The Queensland Badminton Association is looking for volunteers to be line judges at the Sudirman Cup (21-28 May 2017) to be held at Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre, Gold Coast.
Note: In order to line judge you will be expected to complete some training at the 2016 Gosen City of Brisbane Championships on the 16th and 17th July 2016 and line judge at the Sydney International from the 14/09 -17/09/2016
In addition, to those that have already undertaken the training, we are still looking for a further 15 -20 to undertake the line judge training.
Line judges selected for these events may also have the opportunity to Line Judge at the 2018 Commonwealth Games to be held at the Carrara Sport and Leisure Centre, Gold Coast 4th -15th April 2018
Line Judge volunteers must be:
At least 16 years of age (BWF requirement)
A current QBA member
Must be able to volunteer for both the Australian Open and Sudirman Cup tournaments.
Able to travel before and after the tournaments.
Be available for the entire tournament
Attend any required training sessions. Volunteers will be assessed at these sessions to ensure that they meet the standards of line judging required in an international tournament.
Line judges for the later stages of the tournaments will be selected from those who attended the sessions earlier in the week. The best line judges will be selected from among the team to deliver the semi-finals and finals.
