Join the QBA State Selection Panel: Call for Nominations
The Queensland Badminton Association (QBA) is inviting nominations from eligible individuals to join our State Selection Panels for the 2026 season. This is an important opportunity to contribute to the development of badminton in Queensland by helping ensure our state teams are selected with fairness, integrity, and professionalism.
The Role
The Selection Panel is responsible for identifying talent across all representative levels, including U13, U15, U17, U19, and the Open Team. Panel members play a key role in ensuring that all selections are:
Policy‑Driven: Conducted strictly in accordance with the QBA Selection Policy.
Fair & Merit‑Based: Transparent, defensible, and focused on player performance.
Impartial: Free from bias, conflicts of interest, or external influence.
Panel Structure
All appointments are for a one‑year calendar term. Panels will be structured as follows:
Senior Selectors
3–5 QBA‑appointed representatives
Led by a QBA‑appointed Chair
Junior Selectors
3–6 QBA‑appointed representatives
Led by a QBA‑appointed Chair
Age Group Panels (U13–U19)
3–4 members per age group
Each group led by a QBA‑appointed Chair
Note: Age group panel appointments will be finalised with consideration of all declared conflicts of interest.
Expectations & Eligibility
Selectors are expected to maintain a strong understanding of current player standards. This includes attending tournaments and relevant squad training sessions throughout the season.
All nominees must meet the eligibility and conflict‑of‑interest requirements outlined in the QBA Selection Policy.
